Can I get syphilis again after successful treatment?

Yes. Repeat syphilis infections can occur, particularly if an infected sexual partner is not treated at the same time as an infected person. Asymptomatic chancres can be present in the vagina, rectum, or mouth; hence it may not be obvious that a sexual partner has untreated syphilis.
